Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris born October 20, 1964) is an American politician and attorney who is currently the 49th vice-president of the United States. She is both the first female vice-president and the highest-ranking female official of the United America. As a member of the Democratic Party, she previously served as the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017 and also as the state's attorney general from 2011 to 2017 and as a United States senator representing California from 2017 to 2021. Harris was born and was raised in Oakland, California. She began her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office prior to being enlisted into the San Francisco District Attorney's Office and then to the City Attorney of San Francisco's office. The office was named San Francisco district attorney in 2003. In 2010 Harris was appointed Attorney General of California and then re-elected in 2014. Harris was the junior United States Senator from California between 2017 until 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Martinez in 2016's Senate election, becoming the 2nd African American woman and first South Asian American senator to be elected to the United States Senate. Harris was a senator who advocated for healthcare reform and federal de-scheduling cannabis. A path to citizenship for immigrants who are not legally recognized. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. She is best known for her direct questions to Trump administration officials in Senate hearings.
