Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actor, producer and director. She is most famous for her leading role as deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. For her portrayal of Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. The seventh season of the show ended on the 13th of August 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her recurring role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick received nominations for an Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other roles include Oliver Stone's Born to the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's solos (1992), Heart and Souls(93), Phenomenon (1996), What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick is the daughter Patricia Rosenwald who is an educator, family therapist, venture capitalist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII, a speech therapist. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian as well as of English origin. Sedgwick has stated that she's Jewish and participates in Passover meal times.
